Primer
gelatin silver prints, wood, thread, organic artifacts.

This piece came out of my attempt to deal with some seemingly senseless deaths of young people close to me. In an attempt to ease the sorrow, I struggled to view death more philosophically. This book is an intellectual endeavor attempting to make sense of things, map them out. I see it as being a primer on the stages of life. It is an elementary attempt to record and measure out an intangible, fleeting process. By breaking down the vastness of what is know as life into stages and its corporeal elements, I hoped to clarify its mystery and focus on its subtler elements and rhythms in order to not be overwhelmed by its grander impact.
